海外高校早申录取季捷报频传，爱莎首批毕业学子 ——广州外国语学校爱莎文华 IB 国际课程、广州

科学城爱莎外籍人员子女学校、爱莎武汉学校 2023 届毕业班学生陆续收到各国名校早申录取 offer ！

As of January this year, ISA G12 students have sent their applications to top universities in the

United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada, and Hong Kong (China), with 84 offer letters

being received and an accumulated over $700,000 in scholarship being awarded. The offer

letters have been received from a number of top global universities and colleges, including

from among prestigious universities with profound history, including G5 and other Top 30

Universities inUK, Top 3 Universities in Hong Kong, Top 10 art&design Universities in the US,

and G8 Universities of Australia.

截止1月中，爱莎首届毕业生向英国、美国、澳大利亚、加拿大和香港五个国家或地区的海外院校递交了申请。

在目前已公布的结果中，共计收到录取 84 份（部分美国 EA 早申尚未公布结果），累计超 70 万美金奖学金。

The result never betrays efforts and hard

work. Xavier’s interests have enriched her

daily life from playing video games and

playing the violin to art design, ballet dance,

sailing and more. ISA provides a wide

range of CCA courses, which has given her

opportunities to dig out her potential. She

keeps a good balance between her study

and interest development, which help her

to learn how to cope with various tasks

efficiently.

亮眼的录取成绩背后离不开背后的努力。馨禾兴

趣广泛，从电竞游戏，到小提琴、长笛，再到艺

术字设计、芭蕾舞、帆船，她的爱好特长可谓“全

面开花”。进入爱莎后，得益于学校开展的 CCA

In response to the national initiative and

to implement the guiding spirit of the

Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Education,

on Januar y 14, 2023, ISA International

Education Group and Guangzhou No. 5

Secondary School Education Group signed

the “Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation

Framework A greement ”. At the same

time, ISA Liwan International School and

Guangzhou No. 5 Secondary School also

signed the “Memorandum of Understanding

on Sister School Education Communication

and Cooperation”.

响应国家倡议，落实广州市教育局的指导精神，

2023 年 1 月 14 日，爱莎国际教育集团与广州五

中教育集团签订《全面战略合作框架协议》，同时，

广州荔湾爱莎外籍人员子女学校与广州市第五中

学也签署《姊妹学校教育交流合作的谅解备忘录》。

The pandemic restriction stopped students

from coming back to the campus. In order to

reduce the influence, schools responded and

handled the situation with a quick speed and

implemented online classes following the

guidance of the government. Online sessions

were fun and interesting with the passion

and enthusiasm of students and teachers.

The success of the classes has received great

feedbacks from parents. Not only the classes

were switched online, so as some challenges

and activities, such as the poem challenge

star ted from ISA Tianhe, Tissue Paper

Competition from ISA Science City.

突如其来的疫情，阻断了学生们返校的脚步。爱

莎各学校与项目根据实际情况迅速采取相应措

施，进行网课或封闭式教学，尽全力把对学生的

影响降到最低。虽然学习的物理距离拉远了，但

老师们的热情与责任却没有减少，孩子们也积极

参加课堂学习。为增加线上学习的乐趣，学校也

举行了各色的线上小活动，如爱莎天河的诗歌挑

战、爱莎科学城的趣味纸巾传递赛等。

Offline 线下

January 9, after nearly 70 days and nights

of waiting, the students were finally

able to return to their familiar campus.

The students returned to their familiar

campus and classrooms, interacting

enthusiastically with teachers and

classmates they hadn't seen for a long

time. While we opened the campus

we still provided online learning for

families who were unable to come

to campus because of illness, family

reasons etc.

1 月 9 日，在经过近 70 个日夜的等待后，

在爱莎天河、爱莎科学城等学校又迎来了

孩子们的欢声笑语。学生重新回到熟悉的

校园、课堂，与许久未见的教师和同学热

情地交流互动 ... 我们看到安静许久的校

园重新恢复活力，仿佛彼此不曾离开过。

当然，对于因家庭或出于疫情考虑原因无

法返校的孩子，学校仍然为他们提供与线

下课堂同步的线上教学：线下与线上双配

合的模式，为学生们提供高质量的教学。

No rainbow can be seen without a storm. We believe that when all students return to school,

they will cherish the time they have spent interacting freely with their classmates, listening

to their teachers' voices and competing on the sports field. This is a life experience that has a

special educational value for our children.

不经风雨，怎见彩虹。这段特别的经历会让孩子们更珍惜在校内与同学自由交流、聆听教师的谆谆教诲，

以及在运动场上尽情比拼的校园时光。这段人生体验，对于我们的孩子而言，更是具有一份特别的教育

意义。

Year 4 have been looking at signs and symbols as part of their current UOI and adventure

stories in English. They read ‘The Adventurers and the Temple of Treasures’ by Jemma Hatt.

The story leads the characters on an adventure featuring signs and symbols. Whilst the

students explored the themes in the book, they had the pleasure of talking online with the

author Jemma Hatt. The Q&A session after the meeting session was fulfilled with questions

from students. The students wrote letters to thank Jemma for her time and insight. Year 4 will

now write their own adventure stories, which we cannot wait to read.

Treasures》探究了标点符号的使用方法。

幸请到了本书作者 Jemma Hatt 与孩子

们进行线上交流活动。Jemma 热情地与

孩子们进行了交谈，满足了大家的好奇心，

分享了阅读与成为作者的心得。学生们十

分欣喜，也在活动结束后，纷纷写信感谢

Jemma，并 约定写下属于自己的冒险 故

事。

Jemma Hatt

Jemma Hatt is the author of The Adventurers Series for

children aged 8-12. Growing up near Sevenoaks in Kent, Jemma

developed with a passion for reading and writing short stories,

which ultimately led to a degree in English Literature from the

University of Exeter. The Adventurers Series was inspired by

many family holidays to Devon and Cornwall, as well as the

adventure stories she loved reading as a child.

Series 的作者。Jemma 在肯特郡附近长大，对阅读和撰写短篇故

Wenhua IB Programme hosted a Mid-Term

Award Ceremony on December 18th. It

was quite touching to see students walking

to the stage and being awarded by heads

of schools. The progress and the hard

work paid off. Teachers and schools hope

that students can keep forwarding ahead

with perseverance and diligence. Let ’s

congratulate them on their achievements!

in addition to excellent grades, successful

meaningful extracurricular activities, and

impressive leadership experience. Students

Founded in 1950 by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), the AMC competition has grown into

one of the world's most influential youth mathematics assessment activities, with more than 300,000

students participating every year in more than 6,000 schools around the world.

Following the vision and mission of ISA Education

and also developing upon the learning atmosphere

in GZFLS, ISA Wenhua IB Programme has immersed

STEAM

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Therefore, STEAM Education

is the comprehensive education philosophy combing these few areas. It is a method not only based on

one specific subject or textbook. It is a advanced concept emphasizing practices. Science is for students

to learn the world and explain the truths. Technology and Engineering is to bring up students’ potential

in innovation while still respecting the nature. Mathematics is the foundation set for Technology and

Engineering. In recent years, Arts has been added into STEAM to make it more diverse and comprehensive.

STEAM 代表科学（Science），技术（Technology），工程（Engineering），艺术（Arts），数学（Mathematics）。

STEAM 教育就是集科学，技术，工程，艺术，数学多领域融合的综合教育。有别于传统的单学科、重书本知识的

教育方式，是一种重实践的超学科教育概念。其中科学（Science）在于认识世界、解释自然界的客观规律；技术

（Technology）和工程（Engineering）则是在尊重自然规律的基础上改造世界、实现对自然界的控制和利用、解

Reading is like a path we have to go through during our growth. Reading ten thousand books

is like traveling ten thousand miles. The winter holiday is on and we wish you have time to

My favourite book for children is The Story of the Little Mole Who Knew It Was None of His

Business, by Werner Holzwarth and Wolf Erlbruch. A mole who is just emerging from his

hole gets pooped on his head by an unidentified animal; The mole sets out on a mission to

discover which animal is the culprit. This book always stimulates lively discussion with groups

of children as they questions whether or not the mole acted correctly, as the dog did not

annoy him on purpose. Should we punish others who annoy us unintentionally? This is a great

discussion to have in class.

我想推荐给孩子们的一本书是《小鼹鼠的故事：是谁嗯嗯在我的头上》：

有一天，一只从洞里探出头来的小鼹鼠突然被从天而降的不明来历的粪便砸到了脑袋。于是，小鼹鼠便

下定决心开展一项寻找出“哪种动物是罪魁祸首”的行动。这个故事引起看了人们的热烈讨论，因为很多

人质疑小鼹鼠的行为是否正确。狗并没有本意冒犯小鼹鼠惹他生气，会让人不禁思考：“我们应该惩罚

The author, Alan Macfarlane was my PhD advisor at University of

Cambridge. Cultures differ from each other and misunderstandings

take place in communications, which can lead to conflicts. This book

provides readers with a perspective to understand the game between

major powers in the world.

这是我剑桥导师 Alan Macfarlane 的著作。“不同文化圈会信守不同的文明，

当互不理解成为常态，冲突必然会发生。”这本书能够帮助读者理解发生在当

下的大国博弈。

It is highly recommended in my book list to students in high schools or even middle schools. It is

beneficial for them to learn about the differences between cultures and the international society,

and realise their pathway to becoming future leaders. It is an essential step to contribute their

efforts to building China’s image as a friend to the world.

It is suggested that you read The Theory of Moral Sentiments,

which actually lays an ethical foundation for the rationality of the

market economy. I encourage everyone to read this book. Because

the essence of western economics is to learn how to allocate

and make decisions in the face of scarce resources. Reading the

Wealth of Nations and its basis The Theory of Moral Sentiments,

you will understand the definition of a virtuous person from a

new perspective. In the pursuit of individual value, your positive

externality will benefit the people around you. This is also the

person who contributes to society and can make a difference to

the world to bring positive energy to society.

很多人都熟悉亚当斯密《国富论》。建议大家同时阅读《道德情操论》，它

实际上为市场经济的合理性奠定了伦理基础。我鼓励大家阅读这本书越

好。因为西方经济学的根本就是学习在稀缺的资源面前，如何去做配置和决策行为的动机。读了这个国富论

Science, the Endless Frontier by Vannevar Bush, has drawn the

blueprint of science development in the United States during the

Post World War II period, which set the foundation of the USA as

the global leader in science and technology. The book is recognised

as the landmark argument for the essential role of science in

society and emphasises the importance of basic research. Views

'So Musical' has partnered with the ISA

International Academy to introduce quality

musical theatre courses to ISA students. The

ISA International Academy Musical Theatre

Class teaches students through different

musical themes, role-playing, script analysis,

performance, prop production, and set

design. We take an in-depth look at dramatic

literature and develop creative artistic ideas.

The cast of the original musical \"I Do\" is

looking for young actors (ages 7-16). ISA

students are invited to audition.

The practise will start from February, 2023.

2 hours every Sunday afternoon and there

will be 10 days (4h/day) training session in

summer holiday. The duration of practise

will be 6-8 months and will star the tour in

the Greater Bay Area in 2023.

Learning is never just about sitting in the classroom, musical

play is another good way for children to develop. We cultivate

children's comprehensive performance ability and enhance their

self-confidence by learning the singing of three major elements of

musicals, drama and dance. Come and join the Advanced Musical

Theatre from ISA International Academy. Here students will learn

the background of drama literature and develop drama creative

thinking through different musical theatre themes, role-playing

in stories, script analysis, lines and speeches, props production,

drama painting, and scene creation.

Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth. In the past year,

ISA Liwan has warmly welcomed the founding families and we’ve been

【Celebration of New Year | 新春活动】

Soon, we will be celebrating the Spring Festival. Red

lanterns, fireworks and Chinese knots are everywhere.

In ISA campuses, schools have put up decorations,

brought the lion dance to the campus and held activities

for students to learn how to make related products for

Spring Festival. Students enjoyed the events so much!

春节临近，爱莎校园里也张灯结彩，到处洋溢着热闹喜庆的

气氛。为了给孩子们营造春节氛围，了解春节文化，学校举

办了各色庆典活动，把舞狮带到了校园表演，让孩子们动手

做春节相关的文化产品等。在有趣开心的氛围下，学生们收
