"what exactly is the 'join In card,' and how can it simplify daily life in Ningbo?"
On the afternoon of March 5th, the "Seamless Support for Going Global, Hassle-Free Entry into Ningbo" policy promotion and service event at Tianyi Square attracted expats eager to learn about the city's latest initiatives.Jochevel Glenn from Indonesia approached the Ningbo Science and Technology Bureau's volunteer service booth, wanting tolearn more about the application process for the"Join In Card."

By merging identity verification, healthcare access, financial transactions, and public
At the event,volunteers demonstrated the card's applications, ranging from hospital registrations to metro rides. Nick Cahill, who has lived in Ningbo for over a decade, shared his experience: "With this card, I no longer need to carry mypassport orworkpermit everywhere. It's a game-changer for expats like me." Cahill added that he plans to recommend the card to his friends to make their stay in China even smoother.
3月5日，在天一广场举行的“助力出海畅通、便利来甬无忧”出境入境一站式政策宣传支援服务活动吸引了众多外籍人士关注。来自印度尼西亚的JochevelGlenn来到市科技局志愿服务展台，好奇地询问“聚英卡”办理有关问题。
“聚英卡”（JoinInCard），寓意聚天下英才，是一张集成了工作许可信息的多功能社保卡，旨在为在华外籍人才提供一站式服务。通过整合身份验证、医疗健康、金融服务及公共交通等功能，使在中国工作的外国人享受社保卡场景“一卡通”服务，生活更加便利。今年2月底，宁波首张“聚英卡”正式发放，标志着宁波市外籍人才服务迈入新阶段。
活动现场，志愿者通过场景演示展示了该卡在医院挂号、地铁出行等场景的应用。在甬定居十余年的NickCahill表示：“这张卡替代了护照和工作许可证，日常生活更轻松。对于外籍人士而言，它意义重大。”他同时表示将向朋友推荐此卡，助其更好地融入中国生活。

The 31st ChinaASEAN Senior Officials' Consultation was held in Ningbo on February 13.
马来西亚外交部秘书长在宁波
Coordinated by the city's Foreign Affairs Office and Publicity Department, Amran, Malaysia's Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Senior ASEAN Official,co-chaired the consultation with the Chinese delegation. In an exclusive interview withNingboTV and Ningbo Daily, he discussed the promising prospects for collaborationbetweenMalaysia and Ningbo, particularly in port development, and explored how Ningbo could further enhance its role within the China-ASEAN cooperation framework.
At the outset of the interview, Amran expressed his admiration for Ningbo. He shared that their arrival coincided with Lantern Festival, and the harmonious blend of traditional festivities and the dazzling lights of the
modern city created a unique atmosphere, making Ningbo feel both "grounded" and "global." Amran noted that Ningbo - Zhoushan Port is the world leader in cargo throughput, while Malaysia's Port Klang ranks among the top ten global ports and serves as a key ASEAN hub. Reflecting on the history of the ports' collaboration, he pointed out thatin 2004,the two became "sister ports"; in 2015, Ningbo launched the"Maritime Silk Road Port Cooperation Forum," promoting digital shipping and green transformation; and in 2024, Ningbo's Zhenhai District and Port Klang Free Trade Zone reached an agreement to promote high-quality development, facilitating deeper integration in nine major areas, including Free Trade Zone cooperation.
In addition to traditional trade, Ningbo has demonstrated its strong capabilities in emerging industries. In April 2024, the Proton China R&D Center was established in Ningbo, exemplifying the innovative collaborationbetweenChina andMalaysia in the automotive sector. According to Amran,by expanding cooperation in areas such as auto parts supply and battery research, Ningbo can inject new momentum into the economicpartnershipbetween China and ASEAN, fostering deeper collaboration in green and digital economies. In recent years, tourism, education, and cultural exchanges between Ningbo and Malaysia have flourished, with direct flights and visa exemption policies greatly facilitating these exchanges. Amran expressed hope that the "ASEAN-China Year of Cultural Exchange" initiative would further strengthen people-to-people connections, laying a solid foundation for the future development of bilateral relations.

The event was attended by Yu Weinian, president of the Ningbo Chinese Culture Promotion Association and author of Yongyi, Chen Yu, vice president of the association, and Lin Daji, chairman of the district's political consultative conference, among other distinguished guests.
Yongyi is a compilation of seven essay collections by Yu Weinian, including Great Ways, Subtle Words,Hundreds of Grains,Thousands of Crafts,and Morning Songs, Evening Chants. The exhibition showcases 60 illustrations,featuring 37 works by artist He Yeqi for Great Rules, Small Measures and 23 by artist Chen Yafei for Morning Songs, Evening Chants and the poetry collection That Camphor Tree. These artworks,through the seamlessfusion ofliterature
and visual art, vividly interpret Ningbo'srichhistorical heritage and urban spirit.
In his speech, Yu Weinian reminisced about the inspiration and journey behind Yongyi, stressing that the collection serves as a comprehensive reflection on the city's memories and a cultural safeguard.
