About the ISPO Award Over the course of its long history, the ISPO Award has established itself as the seal of quality for the sporting goods industry. The award is a year-round guide to the products of the next season and is aimed at retailers, journalists and end consumers. The international jury is made up of athletes, retailers, journalists, designers and consumers who choose the best sports products after in-depth discussions and a secret ballot. In 2021, a total of 76 products are recognized for their innovation, quality and functionality. Four receive the highest accolade and are awarded the title “Product of the Year”. In line with the growing relevance of sustainability, an additional six special awards will be presented across all categories and award levels for particularly sustainable product developments. Snowsports A future built tradition Snow sports contribute to a large share of ISPO Munich, with skiing in all its facets being one of the strongest segments. This is also reflected by the ISPO Award submissions. It is amazing to see the unbroken development of this traditional segment as well as the innovations in snowboarding or ski moutaineering which often start new trends which turn into continuous movements.Avalanche safety, in particular, is a good example representing ongoing innovation throughout the years, thus inspiring the jury’s work.
