Intelligent Medium Voltage Switchgear
Overview
Eaton has specially introduced the iET1 intelligent switchgear, based on the ET1
medium voltage switchgear, which uses modern sensing technology, microcomputer
processing, and communication technology, combined with an expert diagnosis
system, and organically combines with the switchgear to realize its intelligentization
and health management, reduce unnecessary power outage overhaul and testing,
implement targeted inspection or maintenance, reduce maintenance workload and
cost, and improve the reliability and economy of the power system.
The iET1 intelligent switchgear is suitable for users in smart grid, data center,
airport, industry, and other sectors. Online monitoring, protection, and control
modules can be optimally configured according to customer requirements, in order
to create intelligent solutions and systems that meet system requirements.

The wireless passive temperature sensor
is used to collect the temperature
information of the key parts of the

Circuit breaker status and characteristic monitoring
The mechanical characteristic parameters and operating current of the vacuum
circuit breaker are monitored by the displacement sensor and hall element. Based
on Eaton's R&D, manufacturing, and application experience, the professional
diagnostic algorithm is used to monitor the changing trends of the switch
characteristic state, judge and predict the operation of circuit breaker, and realize
the transition from planned maintenance to condition-based maintenance of the
circuit breaker, realizing timely detection and early treatment of circuit breaker
faults and further ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the distribution
system.
Monitoring of mechanical characteristics
The movement curve of the mechanism is obtained by displacement and pressure
sensors, and the mechanical characteristic parameters of the circuit breaker can be
obtained by intelligent model analysis and calculation.

The FXD310 intelligent monitoring device is the core equipment of intelligent
cabinets, which collects sensor signals and component status information,
realizes information collection, display, monitoring, control, early warning, event
recording, and communication functions, and can communicate with other

Eaton Expert Diagnosis System
The background system is equipped with monitoring software and an embedded
expert diagnosis system to realize the display, monitoring, and prediction of the
switchgear; The expert diagnosis system can evaluate the running state of circuit
breaker, comprehensively judge the load and temperature rise of switchgear, give
early warnings and alarms for the state of the circuit breaker and switch, and
provide diagnosis opinions and suggestions.
• Evaluates the state of circuit breaker mechanism, electric chassis, electric
grounding switch, and other equipment and informs users, gives alarm and early
warning to mechanism and electrical faults, and provides self-diagnosis opinions of
the faults;
• Based on the collected temperature and current load information, the system makes
a comprehensive analysis and judgment, gives early warning information on
excessive temperature rises or bad rises, and provides reasonable solutions;
• Based on the mechanical characteristics, action current, and action time of the
circuit breaker mechanism, the system analyzes the mechanism characteristics,
finds fault symptoms such as refusing action and mis-operation in advance, makes
mechanical life judgments, sends out early warning information in time, and
