• Complete the Common App or
UMassD’s online application
• $60 non-refundable application fee
• Submit secondary and/or post-secondary sealed
official transcripts with at least three years grades.
Must be sent directly from the school counselor.
• Submit TOEFL (79), IELTS (6.0)*,
Duolingo (105) or PTE (53) scores
if a non-native speaker of English.
• Provide a copy of your passport.
• Submit a bank statement with a minimum balance
of $53,000 minus your scholarship. (required after
acceptance for visa purposes)
• The minimum GPA requirement is 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Students applying to visual & performing arts
programs (excluding art history) must submit a
portfolio/music audition.
*Students can study English and take academic
courses with an IELTS score of 4.5 to 5.5 through the
Gateway program.

Scholarships
Based on your application, you’ll automatically be
considered for a merit scholarship that will be granted
for four years (eight semesters) as long as you maintain
full-time status (12 day credits per semester) and a
cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
International freshmen with a high school GPA of 2.75
or above: $10,000-$15,500 per academic year
International transfer with a transfer GPA of 3.0 or
above: $10,000 per academic year

Campus housing is guaranteed for the duration of your UMassD
studies. Our new first-year residence and dining complex features
two residential buildings, Balsam and Spruce Halls, connected to
The Grove, a state-of-the-art dining facility.
The halls includes computer lounges, performance practice areas,
and outdoor gathering space and seating. Other features include
shared kitchens and free laundry monitored by a mobile app.
The Grove is one of 10+ dining locations on campus. Serving
cuisine from around the world along with vegetarian and vegan
options, it has a special dietary needs and allergen station.
Safe and Secure
There is one entry/exit for the campus and a full-time
UMass Dartmouth Police Department that supports students,
faculty, and staff 24/7. You’ll find blue light emergency phones

Required documents
Your enrollment deposit and financial documents are required to receive an I-20 form for a
visa interview.
Bank statements, loans, a financial guarantee letter from the government, etc. need to be
valid within 9 months of the first day of class with a minimum balance equal to the difference
between your scholarship amount and $53,000.

Merit-based scholarships
As an international freshman or transfer student at UMass Dartmouth, you’ll automatically
be considered for a merit scholarship based on your application.
Freshmen with a high school GPA of 2.75 or above: $10,000-$15,500 per academic year
Transfers with a transfer GPA of 3.0 or above: $10,000 per academic year
The merit scholarship is granted for a total of four years (eight semesters) as long as you
maintain full-time status (12 day credits each semester) and a cumulative GPA of at least
3.0 at UMassD. If you drop below full-time and/or fall below the required GPA, the
scholarship is permanently forfeited.
Other scholarships
Students from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Oman, and Qatar could get government
sponsorships.
Billing and monthly payment plan
Billing is done by semester. We offer a monthly payment plan which allows students and
families the option to pay the term bill in monthly installments, interest free. The UMassD
Monthly Payment Plan offers a maximum of five payments per term, due August–
December and January–May. There is an enrollment fee of $40 per term, and you must
re-enroll each term. All expenses are subject to change at the discretion of the university,
the state, or the Board of Higher Education.
