SGS North China Radiographic Technology Laboratory was established in 2013. With 10
years development, it has gradually formed a radiographic technology center with its
services covering North China and northeast China. In June 2022, to further improve the
laboratory's technical capacity and hardware facilities, the laboratory moved to a new site
which located at No. 1368, Bohai 12th South Road, Lingang Industrial Zone, Binhai New
Area, Tianjin. With the new laboratory put into use, it will provide more efficient and
convenient technical services and support for enterprises in North and Northeast China.
The laboratory covers a total area of 1600 square meters, and its office area is 220
square meters. It has two exposure bunkers with the Radiation Safety License, the
larger one is equipped with a 10 ton crane with a door height of 5 meters and a width
of 4.5 meters, which is convenient for large trucks and sample delivery of small and
medium-sized vessels, equipment, valves, large castings, etc. It is also equipped with
portable X-ray machines, Ir192, Se75 Gamma-Ray sources, computed radiographic
testing equipment, and UT, MT, PT, PAUT and other nondestructive testing equipment
to meet the needs of different customers and product types.

Our services
FILM RADIOGRAPHY (RT)
There are two exposure bunkers which can perform radiographic shooting at the same
time. The larger one has lifting equipment capable of carrying components up to ten
tons, so we are able to test large components with ease. Laboratory-based X-ray
capability ranges from 160 to 320 kV and our gamma-ray is equipped with iridium 192
radiation sources, the maximum penetration thickness is about 100 mm. The penetration thickness of the selenium 75 radiation source for small-diameter thin-walled tube
transillumination is about 4 to 40mm, and the imaging quality, clarity, and sensitivity of
the selenium 75 source are better.
COMPUTED RADIOGRAPHY (CR)
The laboratory can conduct fast and efficient computed radiographic testing. It is
widely used in weldments, castings, metals and its alloys, non-metals, plastics,
rubbers, resins, ceramics, composite materials, electronic components, circuit boards,
high-voltage switch contacts, testing of device assembly accuracy and structural
integrity.
ON-SITE INSPECTION AND TESTING
The laboratory provides portable equipment and experienced nondestructive testing
teams to provide on-site testing services at client’s designated time and locations. The
transportation, transfer and use of radioactive sources shall be carried out in strict
accordance with the national and local regulations, and the control area and supervision area shall be set up during the operation, and the \"three alarms\" safety protection
measures shall be arranged to avoid harming the public.
TECHNICAL AND CONSULTING SERVICES
Senior non-destructive testing experts in the laboratory provide comprehensive NDT
solutions for product full life cycle, prepare, review and approve procedures and
instructions; interpret domestic and international NDT codes and standards, and
provide NDT technical consultant, audit and supervision services.
TRAINING AND EXAMINATION OF NDT PERSONNEL
We can provide NDT training, examination, and certification in accordance with
American and European standards, courses are conducted at our laboratory, which are
equipped with lecture rooms and laboratories for practical exercises.

There are more than 30 professional engineering technicians, including 25 professional
NDT technicians and 5 people with advanced certificates of nondestructive testing in
the laboratory. SGS NDT personnel were qualified and certified in accordance with
international and domestic standard, such as: TSG Z8001, PCN, CHSNDT, EN ISO 9712,
CCS, CSWIP, ASNT/ SNT, and AUT II etc.
