Thiscontactlessandabsoluteposition measuring system is pressure-tight up to 500 bar.Itsfunctionprincipleis basedon the magnetrostictiveeffect.Inconnectionwith this, a torsion impulse is triggered off when twomagneticfieldsmeet.Thisimpulseis directed from the point of measurement via the waveguide inside the measuring scale tothe sensorhead.Thetransit timeis constantandvirtuallyindependentof temperature. It is proportional to the position of the solenoid and cantherefore be used asareferencefortheactualpositionvalue andisconvertedintoadirectanalogor digital output in the sensor head.
