Weil am Rhein Vitra Fire Station 德国莱茵河畔 / 1993

“ 凝固的运动 ”

Frozen Motion

The Vitra Fire Station located in Weil am Rhein, Germany, is Zaha Hadid’s first architectural work. It is

destined to be an incompatible building with its surroundings, with its bold lines, showcasing freedom.

The dynamic and unstable changes and the decomposition of the structure run through every corner of

the building. Just as she depicted on the drawings,

it has a strong sense of flow. When people pass by,

it also undergoes dramatic changes, appearing as

impenetrable walls from a diagonal view, but provides

a glimpse inside from a vertical view. The final impression the building gives is of “frozen motion.”

维特拉（Vitra）消防站位于德国莱茵河畔威尔一个同名

公司的园区内，是扎哈建筑处女作。这注定是个同周遭

一切绝不兼容的建筑，它的线条硬朗张扬、彰显自由，

不稳定的变化动感和结构的分解势态贯穿了建筑的每一

个角落。就像她在图纸上描绘的那样具有强劲的流动感。

建筑给人的最终印象则是“凝固的运动”。

开放区域、半开放区域大面积灯光的使用，

搭配通透的玻璃以及黑色拉丝铝门框组合，构筑一个优雅舒适协调的展示空间。

The simple straight lines create a storage space where open, semi-open, and

enclosed areas coexist, with extensive use of lighting in the open and semi-open

areas. Paired with transparent glass and black brushed aluminum door frames, it

constructs an elegant, comfortable, and harmonious display space.

衣柜内装有伸缩挂衣杆，苹果手机边型旋转镜，

人体感应灯 ( 充电式，无需走线，开门自动点亮，关门 30 秒自动熄灭 )

The wardrobe is equipped with a retractable hanging rod and an IPhone shape

rotating mirror. It also features a human body sensor light (rechargeable, no wiring

required, automatically turns on when the door opens, and turns off automatically

30 seconds after the door closes).

The cantilever structure, often used in ancient

China and Japan, serves as a prime example of

sustainable design. It demonstrates that

one can achieve a large suspended structure

without the need for large-scale materials.

This approach not only conserves resources

but also showcases innovative engineering

principles that value efficiency and environmental

friendliness. The beauty of such a design

lies in its ability to integrate functionality with

minimal impact on the environment,

making it a relevant and timeless concept in
