The History of Sculpture: Sculpture is one of the main categories of formative arts, which is a general

term for sculpture and shaping. Carving is mostly applied to materials such as wood, stone, and metal, while

shaping is mainly made of soil. Chinese ancient sculpture has a long and rich history, with different styles in

different periods and regions. The pottery sculptures and jade carvings of the Neolithic period, the bronze

casting of the Xia, Shang, and Zhou Dynasties, the pottery figurine, tomb stone carvings and pictorial of Qin

and Han Dynasties carvings and portrait bricks, and the grottoes stone carving of Wei, Jin, Southern and
