Our 100% IBERIAN ACORN-FED HAM (PATA NEGRA) comeS from our own production of Alentejan Iberian pigs, considered the least crossbred breed, therefore closest to the original Iberian pig. The range of products is structured around several options differentiated by their quality (from least to most): Iberian Cebo; Iberian Bellota and 7 00% Iberian Bellota, in addition to our exclusive range "Seleccion Gourmet". Prudencio Benito, founded La Prudencia in Villacastin (Segovia) in 1910, small village located in the mountains in the middle of Spain.
Nowadays, the third and the fourth generation of the company, following the custom with the same traditional criterion to get the quality recognized as one of the best in Spain.
In Zafra, (Extremadura), we breed our own Iberian Pigs, feeding exclusively with acorns from November to February during the montanera season. The pigs are living in freedom and in perfect harmony, daily eating 9 kg to get a total weight of 180 Kg. After slaughtering in Villacastin and following a long and very slow curing in the Azalvaro hills, we obtain one of the greatest delicacies of world gastronomy - 1 00% acorn-fed Iberian hams, shoulders and cold cuts.
