内壁光滑；且不随使用时间变化，摩擦阻力小，节省能源，压力损失比钢管约小 1 3 0 % ，可选用比钢管小的口径。卫生性能好，无添加剂，没有污染饮用水的可能性，ISO标准定级聚乙烯材料为0级（最低级），不生霉材料，与其他一些常用塑料材料相比，聚乙烯的耐霉菌性能要高很多，长期使用也不积垢。

应用范围：

给水管适用于温度不超过 4 0 ^ { \circ } { C } ；公称压力在1.6MPA以下，一般用途的压力输水以及饮用水的输送。
