此剔紅瓶呈菱形，木胎，在胎骨上層層髹紅漆，至相當的厚度，待半乾時描上畫稿，然後再雕刻紋飾。整器以各式錦紋作地，口沿施花卉紋一周，頸部刻蕉葉牡丹紋，四壁可渭水訪賢等山水人物故事四幅，人物神態愜意，灑俊，其間垂柳鬱鬱，松柏蔥蔥。雕刻深峻而不顯呆板，細節表達條理清晰，一絲不苟。底部刻有「大清乾隆年制」楷書款。整器刻工精細，下刀利落，器型獨特，裝飾紋樣精美，極有收藏價值。
此拍品為清乾隆朝之物，乾隆一朝持續六十載，為中國歷史上屈指可數的盛世王朝，文化藝術可謂遍地開花，呈現出百花爭豔的形勢。清宮養心殿造辦處承製了大量雕漆名品，無論是整體技術水準，還是藝術風格都趨向頂峰，具有氣勢磅礴、優雅高貴、擇料精良、造型成熟、工藝精湛、紋樣華美之大家氣魄。
