Tax Refund Upon Departure

Eligible overseas travelers (foreign nationals and compatriots from Hong Kong,Macao,and Taiwan who have resided in mainland China for no more than 183 days) can apply for a VAT refund when departing from designated ports of departure such as Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, provided they have purchased goods displaying the tax-refund logo.

TIPS

After shoppingat stores with the tax- refund logo,be sure to ask the salesperson for the Application Form for Tax Refund Upon Departure forOverseasTravelersand the original sales invoice,and keep these documentssafe.

Conditions for Application:

1The total amount of tax-refundable items purchased by the same overseas traveler on the same day from the same tax-refund store reaches RMB 200.

2The tax-refundable items have notbeen used orconsumed.

3The departure date does not exceed 90 days from the purchase date of thetax-refundableitems.

4 The purchased tax-refundable items are carried or checked in as luggage by the overseas traveler in person when departing.

Instant Refund

Eligible travelers can receive an immediate cash refund after shopping, without having to wait until departure.

.Conditions for"Instant Refund":

In addition to meeting the basic requirements for tax refund upon departure,the following conditions must also be satisfied:

1Holding a valid international credit card in your own name that can perform pre-authorization operations,such as Visa or Mastercard.

2Committing to depart from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport within the specified time after shopping.

After purchasing tax-refundable itemsat stores that support instant refund,be sure to obtain theApplication Form for Tax Refund Upon Departure for Overseas Travelers and the originalsales invoice.

On-site cash collection

At the store,use a qualified credit card to perform a preauthorization guarantee and sign the relevant commitment letter. After approval,you can immediately receive the equivalent amount of the refundable VAT in RMB cash.

Alipay"One-Click Refund' Process

Hangzhou has introduced the One-Click Refund fast-refund service for tax refund upon departure, reducing the on-site taxrefund processing time from at least 20 minutes earlierthisyearto as fast as2minutes.

At present, Hangzhou has introduced the Flash Stay service for overseas travelers,allowing you to check in to hotels with just a simple tap of your phone.Let'ssee how itworks!

Step 1

Obtain the Hangzhou Citizen Code (for overseas travelers) Before checking into a hotel, make sure you have downloaded the Alipay app and obtained the Hangzhou Citizen Code (for overseas travelers) on Al Hangzhou. Also,enable the NFC function on your phone.

Step 2

Flash Stay Registration

Bring your phone close to the radio frequency (RF) card provided by the hotel, or directly scan the QR code provided by the hotel to be directed to the personal information page of the Citizen Code (foroverseastravelers).

Information Submission

Present your valid identification to the front desk as required for foreign guest check-in procedures.After the staff verifies that the information is correct,you can pay the deposit and receive your room card.

Departure from Hangzhou

Unspent RMB cash can be exchanged back to foreign currency at banking outlets and authorized institutions for RMB and foreign currency exchange. Overseas travelers can handle the exchange by presenting their valid identification documents and the original exchange receipt. The original exchange receipt is valid for exchange back within 24 months of the exchange date.

For these exchanges:

Banking outlets can directly handle exchanges not exceeding the equivalent of 500 US dollars (inclusive) on the same day,as well as exchanges not exceeding the equivalent of 1,0oo US dollars (inclusive) on the same day at domestic customs-controlled premises prior to departure, when presenting the individual's valid identification document.

Authorized institutions for RMB and foreign currency exchange can directly handle exchanges not exceeding the equivalent of 1,000 US dollars (inclusive) on the same day when presenting the individual's valid identification document.

2 Tax Refund at the Airport UponDeparture

Step

Hold onto your shopping vouchers.

After shopping at stores with the tax-refund logo,be sure to ask the salesperson for the Application Form for Tax Refund Upon Departure forForeign Travelersand theoriginal salesinvoice,and keep these documents properly.

Step 2

Customsverificationand confirmation.

Before departure,go to the tax-refund declaration point for customs at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport's Terminal 4,4th floor (next to the SF Express service counter) for customs inspection and stamping.

Step 1

Customsverificationand confirmation.

Before departure,please go to the customs declaration point on the 4th floor of Terminal 4 with your tax-refund items,documents, and identification to complete customs inspection and stamping.

Final confirmation by the agent.

After entering the international departure restricted area,go to the relevant tax-refund service counter to submit the stamped documents.If all information is correct, the preauthorization on your credit card will be released; if you fail to depart as scheduled orcomplete the required procedures,the cash you received will be deducted via the preauthorization.
