Aframax Oil Tanker generally refers to an oil tanker with a loading capacity of 100K to 120K DWT and a carrying capacity

of 700,000 to 900,000 barrels of crude oil. The 105K, 108K, 113K and 114K DWT Aframax COT/POT designed and built by

SWS, which enjoyed the honor of “China Name Brand” and won the trust and favor of many customers in the industry due

to its excellent performance, good carrying capacity, as well as high efficiency and convenient after-sales service system.

SWS has complete and full-chain research, design and construction capabilities, independent hydrodynamic design,

structural design and finite element calculation capabilities, as well as rich experience in electromechanical system

design and supporting. Since the first Aframax order in 2003, the company has successfully delivered 52 Aframax oil

tankers, accounting for about 4.5% of the global fleet.

SWS adheres to the design concept of green, energy saving, safety and reliability. After five generations of research and

development and iteration, the new products can meet the latest international regulations and technical requirements of

relevant industry associations and oil companies. It has a large competitive advantage in key indicators such as

lightweight, specific fuel consumption and energy efficiency design index (EEDI).

At the same time, SWS has also carried out the research on the Ice enhanced Aframax, and formed the Ice class IA and

Polar PC4 design schemes with the study of the Finnish and Swedish ice class specifications and the IMO Polar Code. With

the linear design taken into account the performance both under open water and ice conditions, which passed the ice

model test, the project scheme has successfully formed the technical reserve of the ice enhanced Aframax scheme and

received the order at 2015. The vessel’s performance is excellent, energy saving, environmental-friendly and economical,

which have reached the international advanced level.

SWS independently developed and designed 114K DWT Aframax tanker has an overall length of 249.95 meters, a moulded

beam of 44 meters, a moulded depth of 21.2 meters, a designed draft of 13.5 meters, and a designed speed of 14.5 knots.

The cargo oil tanks can carry approximately 850,000 barrels of crude or product oil. This type of ship has significantly

improved its energy efficiency level through a comprehensive optimization of hydrodynamic performance, the configuration of hydrodynamic energy-saving ducts and vortex fins, and the optimization of the main engine selection. The EEDI

index, verified by actual ships, has met the International Maritime Organization (IMO) requirements for the third phase

which shall be in effect in 2025. At the same time, nitrogen oxide emissions meet Tier III standards, and sulfur oxide

emissions meet the 0.1% requirement, making it highly favored by customers. It is a green ship that is environmentally

friendly, energy-saving, safe, and economical.

114,000 DWT LNG Dual Fuel Aframax Tanker independently developed by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co.,Ltd is

the fourth-generation Aframax tanker product of our company. The LOA is 249.95 meters, the width is 44 meters, and the

depth is 21.2 meters. It can carry crude oil and product oil, with a designed cargo tank capacity of 130,000 cubic meters

and a deadweight of 114,000 tons. This ship is thrust by dual fuels of LNG and fuel oil. Two type C independent LNG fuel

tanks of 2,000 cubic meters each are arranged on the main deck of the cargo area. Endurance for LNG mode is more than

14,000 nautical miles and a total endurance is more than 24,000 nautical miles. Through the comprehensive optimization

and improvement of the propulsion performance of the propulsion system, combined with the use of LNG fuel, the energy

efficiency design index of the ship is reduced by more than 40 % compared with the baseline.

system, combined with the use of methanol fuel, the energy efficiency design index of the ship is reduced by more than

40 % compared with the baseline.

At the same time, in response to emission reduction requirements such as CII and EU ETS, this ship can also provide

integrated application solutions such as sails, air lubrication, and CCS for the market. In the future, by using green methanol, the ship also has the potential to achieve carbon neutrality.

The VLCC generally refers to a crude oil tanker with a load of 200K-320K tons and a loading capacity of 1.3-2 million barrels of

crude oil. This type of tanker is widely used to transport large quantities of oil from the Gulf, West Africa, the North Sea and

Prudhoe Bay to North America, Europe, and East Asia.

SWS designed and built the world's first 316K DWT VLCC, “Huashan” that fully meets the “Common Structural Rules” of the

International Association of Classification Societies. By Oct. 2024, the number of SWS delivered 300K VLCCs add up to 7.16% of

the global VLCC fleets.

2.VERY LARGE CRUDE CARRIER (VLCC)

At the same time, SWS has studied the scheme of using type A independent tank and arranging it inside the cargo area. Based

on the hull line optimization and the shear force and bend moment under analysis, set one type A independent ammonia fuel

tank on the front of No.5 cargo tank with a capacity of 6,200 cubic meters. The endurance of the ship can reach 15,000 nautical

miles in gas mode. Through the comprehensive optimization and improvement of the propulsion performance of the propulsion system, combined with the use of ammonia fuel, the energy efficiency design index of the ship is reduced by more than

40 % compared with the baseline.

Its carrying capacity is 2 million barrels of crude oil, which is the biggest crude oil tanker meets the draught requirements

of the Malacca Strait.

With excellent performance more than 30% below the baseline value specified by EEDI and world-class ultra-low fuel

consumption, it meets various regulations such as TIER III and HCSR and is equipped with SOx scrubber, which is in line

with the latest requirements of environmental protection.
