(PPE) one-stop service
SGS global network and professional expert team will provide you one-stop

personal protective equipment. The local technical expert team will coordinate with
Notified Bodies for application of EU type examination certification (CE

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is device or appliance designed to be worn or
held by an individual for protection against one or more safety hazards. A series of
harmonized standards and procedures are provided based on Regulation (EU)
2016/425 to establish the compliance assessment of PPE products placed on the
EU and UK market. The Personal Protective Equipment Regulation applies to most
professional, household, and sports protective equipment. All the products in the
Regulation scope must meet ESSENTIAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
listed in ANNEX II of (EU) 2016/425.
In America, Canada, Australia and China, there are also series of product standards
established to provide guidance for testing and verifying the protective
performance of PPE products.

Certification
Testing
As a globally recognized benchmark of quality and integrity, SGS is the authorized
Notified Body by European Union and Approved Body by UK.
SGS Finland, as an EU notified body (NB0598), can provide CE certification
compliance assessment services; SGS UK (formerly NB 0120) has been authorized
as \"approved body\", which can conduct compliance assessment according to
UKCA procedures and issue UKCA certificates.
SGS proposed one-stop scheme, called \"One application, CE+UKCA certification\".
By applying once and carries out CE + UKCA compliance assessment procedures
at the same time. It effectively simplifies the process, shortens the certification
TAT. Then PPE products can meet the requirements of UK and EU markets at the
same time.
\"CE\" mark is a compulsory product safety certification mark of the European Union
and a \"passport\" for free circulation of products in the European Union market, so
as to show that the products conform to the requirements of relevant EU
regulations, directives and harmonized standards.
The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) mark is a new UK product mark used for
goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland).
It covers most goods which previously required the CE marking, e,g PPE devices.
