Achromatic doublet lenses are excellent focusing components to reduce the chromatic
aberrations from broadband light sources. Unlike singlet lenses, achromatic lenses have
constant focal length independent of aperture and operating wavelength and have superior
off-axis performance. Our achromatic lenses are computer designed to effectively minimize
spherical aberration and coma when operating at infinite conjugate ratio, yielding smaller
focused spot sizes. These achromatic lenses are available with one of two anti-reflection
coatings: VIS (400~700nm) and NIR (650~1050nm), which can reduce the amount of light
reflected from out surfaces of the lens.

plano-convex lenses have a positive focal length, can be used either for focusing
collimated light or for collimating a point source. These lenses are all made of vacuum grade
UV material, the uncoated lenses have high transmission (>90%) from 200~7000nm. If your
application needs even higher transmission at 3~5μm, IR1 AR coating (R<1.5%@ 3~5μm) is
available.

CaF2 Positive Meniscus Lenses
Positive meniscus (convex-concave) lens, which is thicker in the middle than at the edges and cause
light rays to converge, such lens is designed to minimize spherical aberration. It’s often used in
conjunction with other lenses to decrease the focal length to increase the numerical aperture (NA) for
an optical system. When used to focus a collimated beam, the convex side of the lens should face the
light source to minimize spherical aberration. Since a positive meniscus lens has a greater radius of
curvature on the concave side of the lens than on the convex side, real images can be formed.
Lenses in H-K9L (N-BK7), UV fused silica, CaF2, ZnSe & Germanium are available in our catalog and

ZnSe positive meniscus lenses are used to decrease the focal length of another lens while
maintaining the angular resolution of the optical assembly. These lenses are commonly used
to achieve tighter beam focusing when paired with another positive lenses. These lenses are
available uncoated or with an antireflection coating optimized at 8~12μm.

meniscus (convex-concave) lenses causes light rays to converge, are designed to minimize
third-order spherical aberration. When used to focus a collimated beam, the convex side of
the lenses should face the source to minimze spherical aberration.

Mounted H-K9L Corner Cube Reflector
Retroreflectors reflect an image or beam back 180° toward its original direction. Prisms
achieve this either through total internal reflections (TIR) or specular reflections, depending
on whether the reflective faces are coated. The insensitivity of the alignment of these prisms
make them ideal retro-reflecting optics.
These mounted retroreflector prisms are directly compatible with our lens tubes and fixed
lens mounts, allowing the prisms to be seamlessly incorporated into an optical setup. In
addition, the housing helps to keep the optic free from fingerprints and reduces the risk of
damage to the prism's surfaces.
