8 In 2015 we will celebrate our 110th

anniversary. As the fourth generation,

I am now at the helm of our family

company. Supported by more than 50

committed professionals – a combina-

tion of people who have worked for us

for years and enthusiastic newcomers –

I am continuing to build on the

foundations laid by my ancestors.

We are in constant development, in

constant movement. Just like in

nature, a company must also evolve,

continually prove its right of existence.

It is time to choose. To choose to be

ourselves in particular and to do what

we are good at: designing, developing

and producing tables and accompanying

products, for the residential and work

environment. The table more and more

becomes a focal point at home and

work, and as table expert we immerse

ourselves in all the activities that take

place around the table. This gives us

the opportunity to develop ourselves

and the collection.

We love making furniture and believe in

local production in the long term, both

for the company and our designs. Take

our successful Slim Table, for instance,

which has its 10 year anniversary this

year. This innovative table seems

impossibly thin, but due to its clever

construction of steel and wood veneer

it is strong and stable. A modern classic!

In 2015 bestaan wij 110 jaar. Als vierde 2015 ist unser Jubiläumsjahr. Dann gibt Tables

Arco was founded over one hundred Tables

years ago in Winterswijk by the great-

grandfather of Jorre van Ast, who is the

current director. It all began as a simple

frame-making firm and has now grown

into one of the best equipped wood

Arco is niet van vandaag of gisteren,

maar werd al meer dan honderd jaar

geleden in Winterswijk opgericht door de

overgrootvader van Jorre van Ast, die nu

de leiding heeft. Het begon als een

eenvoudige lijstenmakerij, nu is het één

van de best geoutilleerde houtverwerkings-

fabrieken van Nederland.

Samen met internationale ontwerpers en een Naam: Joop Nijenhuis
