This watch was designed with a clever flip- over design that turned the back of the watch over to minimise the damage caused by violent impacts during the sport. To see the time, the dial is turned over again and the time appears again. It coincided with the fact that decorative art was popular in Europe at that time, and since there was enough space on its back for artistic creation, the watch soon became one of the most influential designs in the history of watchmaking and became known as the Reverso Reversing Collection. The square case is made of platinum and features a fully transparent dial that allows the collector to see through to the world's smallest 101 hand-wound movement, measuring 14 mm in length, 4.8 mm in width and only 3.4 mm in thickness, making it extremely delicate. A true Formula 1 car on the wrist, this watch features a split-second hand that can be read off halfway through the day, and is the first time that Richard Mille has used a split-second chronograph on a self- winding movement. In a combination of pink gold and titanium, this lot features a red Quartz TPT® quartz fast-winding push-piece at 8 o'clock, which is a fun and innovative way of winding the watch, offering collectors a unique feature for fun and enjoyment. The hours, minutes and small seconds, which represent the time, are coloured yellow, while the date is shown in green.
