This large wood carving of a Luohan is posed standing on top of a carved wood base. He has a long flowing robe that falls in pleats and is open at the chest. The skin of the Luohan is painted red, and his garments are painted a copper brown.Gilt paint highlights his features. The Luohan has pendulous ears. In his right, hand, raise at the wrist, he is holding a single bead while the other hand is holding a string of beads that drape over his left shoulder and around his body.
