Leggenda intramontabile del

design dell’illuminazione,

Snoopy è stata concepita

da Achille e Pier Giacomo

Castiglioni nel 1967, perfetta

incarnazione del senso

dell’umorismo dei due fratelli

in un gesto di design funzionale.

Con una silhouette che ricorda

l’omonimo cane dei fumetti, il

design della lampada è rimasto

invariato, con la base in marmo

inclinata che sostiene un

paralume in metallo smaltato

tenuto in perfetto equilibrio.

An enduring legend of lighting

design, Snoopy was conceived

by Achille and Pier Giacomo

Castiglioni in 1967, the perfect

embodiment of a tendency

to infuse functional design

with a sense of humour. With

a silhouette resembling its

namesake comic strip dog, the

lamp’s design has remained

unchanged, its slanted marble

base supporting an enamelled

metal shade held in perfect

equilibrium.

L’originale Snoopy con il

paralume nero si è evoluta in una

collezione con le versioni verde

e arancione, a cui è stata

aggiunta la versione con

diffusore navy-blue, che si ispira

ad una tonalità utilizzata da

Achille e Pier Giacomo per la

loro lampada Sciuko prodotta da

Flos nel 1966.

The Snoopy original with

the black shade grew into

a collection featuring green

and orange versions. The

latest addition, with a navyblue shade, was inspired by a

hue used by Achille and Pier

Giacomo on their Sciuko lamp

for Flos in 1966.

Il percorso del lavoro di Erwan

Bouroullec, sia come membro

dello Studio Bouroullec che, più

recentemente, come designer

indipendente, ha sempre

affiancato all’approccio estetico

distintivo il fascino della

meccanica industriale della

creatività. Emi è il suo primo

progetto illuminotecnico

realizzato in autonomia per

Flos e si ispira al concetto

paradossale di

The trajectory of Erwan

Bouroullec’s work, both as

part of Bouroullec Studio and

more recently as a solitary

creative, has always combined

a distinctive aesthetic approach

with a fascination for the

industrial

mechanics of creativity. His first

solo lighting design for Flos,

Emi, follows the paradoxical

concept of ‘light from shadow’.

A collection that blends

technology and design, Emi

features a trio of light modules

encased within a triangular

pole, its powerful but gentle

Bouroullec’s Ceramique is a trio

of sculptural lights that merge

the French designer’s sensible

approach to volumes and

silhouettes with the company’s

push towards innovation.

Negli ultimi anni la ceramica

è stata al centro del percorso

creativo del designer, che si è

avventurato in un’esplorazione

personale del design astratto.

Utilizzando la ceramica come

Ceramics have been a key

focus of the designer’s creative

journey over the past few

years, as his personal design

explorations have ventured into

the abstract. Using ceramic as

a pictorial medium, the material

has become the subject of a

series of bas-reliefs and vases

that are as much expressive

compositions as they are

functional vessels.
